H.A.V.E.N. Academy.
The H.A.V.E.N. Academy program is one of the twenty-four programs that are a part of the Georgia Psychoeducational Network. This network of programs serves students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders (SEBD) and Autism.
The H.A.V.E.N. Academy serves the Cobb, Douglas, and Marietta City School Systems. There are over twenty-two sites, which allow us to provide a wide variety of service options.
The H.A.V.E.N. staff provides assistance to schools, students and parents in the following areas:
Small Classromm settings.
Teachers have from 8-12 students.
Each teacher with more than 4 students is also assigned a professional childcare technician.
Additional support services such as:

Social workers who provide case management services as well as group and individual crisis counseling. |

Psychologist to assist with testing and treatment plan development. |
|
Nursing services to monitor medications issues, as well as provide consultation on medical issues. |
|
Crisis management personnel to assist in the therapeutic management of crisis situations. |
|
Individualized academic and behavioral planning for students based on their individualized educational plan (IEP). |
|
Parent training classes to assist parents and other caregivers in learning how to effectively work with the school to ensure maximum treatment success for their child. |
The name, H.A.V.E.N. Academy, stands for: Hope (to have a fervent aspiration), Achievement (something completed successfully), Victory (act of conquering), Encouragement (to impart strength and confidence), and Nobility (being on a high intellectual or moral level).
A haven is defined as an institution that provides care and shelter and protects from danger, and Academy is defined as the name of a grove in Athens where the Greek philosopher Plato gathered with his students (from the Greek word "academia").
