Delk and Franklin Roads Development
The City of Marietta, in conjunction with Cobb County, is currently undertaking a master planning process for the greater Delk and Franklin Roads area. The City has retained Basile Baumann Prost & Associates, in conjunction with Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh & Associates, Wilbur Smith Associates and Strategic Planning Initiatives to facilitate this process. Each of these consultants brings to the project expertise in the fields of master planning and design, transportation planning, and economic development.
"The goal of the Delk TOD LCI* Master Plan is to develop and implement a long-range, community-based comprehensive plan to support the orderly growth of the area around the future bus rapid transit station."
Citizens are invited to participate in the development of the long-range plan for the area. The plan will address long-term needs identified by Study Area residents, business owners, City and County officials, and other community stakeholders and will recommend specific improvements and goals to insure the area's future growth. Your ideas will help shape the Delk and Franklin Roads area's future; your participation in the planning process is essential to the Project’s success.

* LCI stands for Livable Centers Initiative. For several years, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has been providing funding for investment studies and transportation projects located in activity and town centers in the Atlanta region. This program of studies and projects has become known as the Livable Centers Initiative (LCI). The focus of the program is to encourage increased residential development, mixed-uses and connectivity in activity and town centers. The City of Marietta and Cobb County were recently selected to take part in the LCI program under a joint partnership agreement that will coincide with GRTA's goal to provide more transportation alternatives.
