LATIN FEST returns to Six Flags Over Georgia
September 19, 12:00-6:00 p.m.
Six Flags Over Georgia prepares to throw a fiesta like no other when Latin Fest returns on September 19, 2004. No habla español? Don’t worry, Latin Fest is for everyone and free with park admission.
Concerts this year feature Liberación, a top-selling group that received three golden records in 1992 for their album Entre Nubes. They won a Heraldo award in the category of Pop Music Revelation and reached triple-gold status again in 1994 with the album Directo Al Corazón.
Also featured in the Latin Fest lineup is Mexican group Grupo Mojado. The group made its international debut after signing with Fonovisa, releasing Pensando En Ti in 1995 and Sueno y Realidad in 1996. The latter featured Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks “Caldo de Pollo” and “Piensa en Mi”, which were awarded the Lo Nuestro for Best Regional Mexican Song.
Now in it’s fourth year, Latin Fest is the fastest-growing new special event at Six Flags Over Georgia. In addition to 100 acres of theme park, Latin Fest brings the Southern Star Amphitheatre alive with an all day celebration including family activities, food, crafts, demonstrations, and music.
Each year Latin Fest falls during the week of Mexico’s independence celebration. However, Latin Fest draws revelers from a variety of Hispanic and non-Hispanic cultures. Learn how to dance the salsa, view displays of various Latin American cultures, and enjoy a variety of delicious foods all in one day.
This year’s event will begin at 12 p.m., with concerts starting between 2 and 3 p.m. All concert events take place in the Southern Star Amphitheater, which has a capacity of over 12,000. Seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Lawn seating is also available.
